Campaign of sensitization on insurance - The participants adopt 7 resolutions in Pointe Noire

The campaign of sensitization  on insurance and CEMAC pink card was launched from 27-28 February, 2018 in Pointe -Noire. During the proceedings, the participants reviewed seven items and adopted 7 resolutions so as to make insurance a tool for develop-ment.

The resolutions are the following :

First,  strengthening of  collaboration between  insurance companies, the police and the constables, so as to put an end  to fraud relating to car insurance certificates.

Second, strengthening of the monitoring of insurance companies and  intermediate underwriters trough the Ministry in charge of insurance..

Third, launching of campaigns of sensitization on insurance products, once a year,  with the involvement  of the market actors in order to promote insurance and thus revamp the citizens culture of insurance.

Fourth,  strengthening of  the monitoring of the use of existing compulsory insurance with the involvement  of the concerned public services (State supervision, customs services, etc).

Fifth, encouraging the signing of agreements between Congo and  border countries, which are not members of CIMA or CEMAC, for the management of cross border disasters.

Sixth, encouraging and strengthening collaboration  between insurance companies to track  bad  record insured roaming about, as well as fly-by-night  intermediate underwriters.

Seventh,  setting up of a follow up committee of the resolutions adopted.

As a reminder, the campaign  proceedings jointly organized by the Ministry of Finance and budget(through the general directorate  of national financial institutions) and the Association Professionnelle des societes d'assurance (APSACO) - were chaired  by Bruno Fructueux Boutsana, Secretary general  of the department of Pointe Noire, in the presence of Constant Badia, executive director of national financial institutions.
