Lénine MBIYE, Director of Airtel Money, and Jean Bosco NKUSI, Director of MTN Mobile Money (MoMo), signed, Thursday March 28, 2024, in the meeting room of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in Brazzaville (Congo) , the Statutes and the Internal Regulations which establish the Professional Association of Payment Institutions (APEP). This act was accomplished in the presence of Jean-Pierre Nonault, Director General of national financial institutions.
From Thursday March 21 to Friday March 22, 2024 in Brazzaville, the Ministry of Economy and Finance organized the first annual Conference for programming and implementation of its activities, in the context of the pilot implementation of Budget management of the State in program mode. The National Economic and Financial Committee of Congo (CNEF) held its first ordinary meeting of the current year, Friday March 15, 2024, at the national headquarters of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), in Brazzaville, underthe presidency of Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, Congolese Minister of Economy and Finance. This session was attended by Ms. Ingrid Olga Ghislaine EBOUKA-BABACKAS, Minister of Planning, Statistics and Regional Integration, Mr. Ludovic NGATSE, Minister of the Budget, Public Accounts and Public Portfolio and by videoconference, Mr. Yvon SANA BANGUI, Governor of the BEAC, of Central African nationality. The Committee noted an 11.1% increase in outstanding gross credits to the economy, to 1,635.5 billion CFA francs, and a slight increase in overdue debts of 1.4% to 256.1 billion CFA francs.
“The four days of meetings allowed us to prepare additional technical sheets for 6 priority integrative projects (PIP) of the 2nd cycle; to examine the state of implementation of the 2 remaining 1st cycle Projects; and to refine the financial arrangements for 5 second cycle projects”.

Tuesday March 5, 2024 in Brazzaville (Republic of Congo), Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, Congolese Minister of Economy and Finance, President of the Steering Committee of the Economic and Financial Reforms Program of the Economic and Monetary Community of Africa Centrale (PREF-CEMAC), indicated five points of reflection to the participants of the 8th meeting of the Technical Committee for monitoring the mobilization of financing and the implementation of the 13 priority integrative projects (PIP) of the 2nd cycle.
