Training Workshop on Banking Finance in Africa
From Friday 29 November to Friday 27 December 2019 at the BSCA headquarters in Brazzaville, the Ministry of Trade and the Central University for Finance and Economy of the China's People Republic organised, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and Budget of the Republic of Congo, a training workshop on banking finance in Africa. This seminar was intended to financial and bank Congolese officials.
During one month, participants were trained on, among other topics, financial institutions and markets, the Chinese foreign exchange market, the strategic transformation of banks, financial risk management, credit management service, green finance, trade and credit crisis, the supply of currency by commercial banks, the risk management of commercial banks, banking system and the sharing of banking business ; …
“This seminar not only reminded the fundamentals, but allowed the participants to familiarize themselves with finance, green finance and inclusive finance. The leitmotiv was the credit risk management, interest rate management, prudent asset-liability management process”, Didace Anselme Liboko, Director of Cooperation at the Congolese Ministry of Finance and Budget.
According to the participants, this seminar made it possible to understand that the development of China is not the result of chance, but of the mastery of science and technology in all spheres of activities.
In closing the seminar, Yang Peipei, economic and commercial advisor of the Ambassy of the China's People Republic in the Republic of Congo, “the cooperation between the two States has already been illustrated by the joint creation of the Sino-Congolese Bank for Africa (BSCA), which is an important vector for the economic and social development of Congo, by facilitating the promotion and financing of projects. Congo is chosen as one of the pilot countries in China-Africa Cooperation. The eight major initiatives of this cooperation perfectly aligned with the National Development Plan (NDP 2018-2022), and the societal project which becomes Congolese government Programme, titled March toward development (2016-2021). As part of these eight initiaitives, we will develop with our Congolese friends, the potential of the economy of their countries, in order to achieve sustainable performance”.
As a reminder, on 28 September 2018, at the Beijing Summit (China) and at the 7thMinisterial Conference of Sino-African Cooperation Forum(FCSA), Chinese President, Xi-Jinping, announced the implementation of eight major initiatives with Africa, aimed at associating the construction of the Belt and the Road with the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Programme, the African Union (AU) 2063 Agenda and the development strategies of african countries, with an emphasis on building endogenous develoment capacities of these countries.
