Directorate General of National Financial Institutions - The census of micro-finance institutions is launched in Brazzaville
The Directorate General of National Financial Insttitutions (DGIFN), under the tutellage of the Ministry of Finance and Budget, organizes together with the National Council of Credit (CNC), the census of micro-finance institutions. This operation was launched on Friday 26 October 2018 in Brazzaville, by Constant Badia, DGIFN.
The objective of this operation is to identify the operators who offer financial products and services to the populations in order to allow the authorities to build strategies for a better consideration in the national financial system.
More than 99 census officials will be deployed in the nine districts of the city of Brazzaville, from 2 to 13 November 2018, to collect information that will allow the National Council of Credit to have a reliable database.
It will identify all credit and savings activities, transfer of money, Scorecards (Mobikissi), financial products and services offered to the populations by the operators working in the informal and formal sector, such as micro-finance Institutions (EMF), funds, mutuals, cooperatives, associations, national and international developement NGOs, tontines, credit and savings projects, transfer structures and others. " The census of micro-finance institutions, which is launched today in Brazzaville, will continue in the other divisions of our country, according to the schedule adopted by the organisation technical Commission ", Constant Badia said.
It should be noted that census officials first received adequate training before going down to the field.
