From Friday, June 28 to Saturday, June 29, 2024 in Brazzaville (Congo), the participants in the 3rd edition of the Banker's Days of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), debated around four themes, namely: "the banking system of the sub-region: excess liquidity of banks and treatment of banks in difficulty"; "cybercrime: elements of combating the vulnerability of banks"; "the opportunities of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA): state of play and implication of the CEMAC banking system"; and "the Credit Information Bureau (BIC): interest and implementation".
From Tuesday June 18 to Wednesday June 19, 2024, Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), hosted the work of the 26th meeting of the AFRITAC Center Steering Committee. Organized in a hybrid format, this meeting gave delegates from the 9 member countries the opportunity to examine the issues of “Public Finance Management and Climate Change”. At the end of these meetings, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, Minister of Economy and Finance of Congo-Brazzaville, was appointed current President of the said Committee for the two fiscal years which have just opened (2024-2026 ).
After three days of work, from Tuesday June 11 to Thursday June 13, 2024 in Brazzaville, capital of the Republic of Congo, participants in the 37th Annual Conference and 40th General Assembly of the Circle of Reflection and Exchange of Directors of Tax Administrations (CREDAF) separated, under the auspices of Mr. Athanase NGASSAKI, Chief of Staff of the Congolese Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE. They adopted three major conclusions, including the appointment of the new current President of this organization, for a period of one year. This is Mr. Ludovic ITOUA, Director General of Taxes and Domains (DGID) of Congo, the organizing country.
Tuesday June 11, 2024 in Brazzaville, the Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Congo, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, opened the work of the 37th Annual Conference, coupled with the 40th General Assembly, of the Circle of Reflection and Exchange of Managers of Tax Administrations (CREDAF). The ceremony was enhanced by the presence of high-ranking personalities, including the Representative of Mr. Mory CAMARA, Director General of Taxes of Guinea-Conakry and President of CREDAF; the Secretary General of this institution, Mrs. Cathérine LEMESLE and the Director General of Taxes and Domains (DGID) of Congo, host country, Mr. Ludovic ITOUA.
Thursday May 23, 2024 in Brazzaville, Mr. Jean-Bapiste ONDAYE, Congolese Minister of Economy and Finance, had a working session with the Centerview Partners Cabinet, led by its Managing Director, Mr. Hamouda Shekir. The two parties discussed a “debt-for-nature swap” operation, linked to questions of financing development objectives and the climate transition, as well as issues relating to the preservation of biodiversity.
Monday May 13, 2024, in the meeting room of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in Brazzaville, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, the leader of the said ministry, spoke with a delegation from the World Bank, led by Mr. Luc RAZAFIMANDIMBY, principal economist in charge of debt management issues for Congo.
From Tuesday April 16 to Thursday April 18, 2024 in Brazzaville (Republic of Congo), Expertise France-Groupe Agence française de développement (AFD) is organizing, in collaboration with the National Committee for the Initiative for Transparency in the Extractive Industries (CN-ITIE ) of this country, a “Training workshop on the new EITI Standard and the use of EITI data”
Tuesday April 9, 2024 in Brazzaville, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, Congolese Minister of Economy and Finance, launched the popularization campaign of two instructions for the application of the new tax provisions contained in law n°39-2023 of 29 December 2023, relating to the 2024 finance law. The ceremony took place in the presence of Messrs. Ludovic NGATSE, Minister of the Budget, public accounts and public portfolio, Ludovic ITOUA, Director General of Taxes and Domains, Administration executives tax, representatives of Congolese employers and taxpayers.
Thursday April 4, 2024 in Brazzaville, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, Minister of Economy and Finance, made a communication to the Directors General of financial authorities and establishments under supervision. The purpose of this communication was to immerse its collaborators in the exercise of the journey towards the quest for better performance in the economic and financial governance of the Congo.
Thursday April 4, 2024 in Brazzaville, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Congo, opened then closed, in his capacity as co-President, the work of the 7th session of the Steering Committee and Monitoring (COS), governance body of the Debt Reduction - Development Contract (C2D) which links France and Congo.
