Extraordinary general meeting of the BDEAC

Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in Douala (Cameroon), the Shareholders of this Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC), under the presidency of Mr. Fortunato-Ofa Mbo Nchama, Minister of Finance and Budget of Equatorial Guinea , current Chairman of the Board of Directors, unanimously reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the Reforms undertaken as part of the 2023-2027 “Azobé” Strategic Plan. They welcomed this reform which, according to them, strengthens the regulatory corpus which evolved significantly during the 2023 financial year.

 

Shareholders particularly appreciated the developments observed in 2023, which include the approval of financing amounting to 267 billion FCFA; the adoption of 10 policies and Charters which will strengthen the governance of the Bank as well as the establishment of the Risk Committee and the Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee. They then gave satisfaction to the President of the General Assembly as well as to the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the results achieved. Closing the work, Mr. Fortunato-Ofa Mbo Nchama expressed his thanks to the high Cameroonian authorities for the welcome given to all the participants in this General Assembly as well as for all the material and security arrangements made for the good stability of the seats. From January 2024, the rotating presidency of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors will be held by the Republic of Chad.
