Launch of the first Online Payment of for Duties and Taxes in Congo

The first online payment platform for duties and taxes in Congo, called E-PAY, was launched by Calixte Nganongo, Congolese Minister of Finance and Budget. The ceremony took place Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Brazzaville. It was punctuated by a video demonstration session of the payment of a Prior Import Declaration Verified (PIDV), from the E-Customs platform.  

According to the Minister of Finance and Budget, E-PAY is part of the modernisation project of the Information System of the Ministry of Finance and Budget, and more particularly of the divisions providing revenue, in this case customs and taxes.

The E-PAY solution will integrate the various electronic and modern payment methods used, such as bank transfer, bank card, mobile money, etc.

To date, the integrated E-PAY payment methods are the Net Banking of the Postal Bank of Congo and the Airtel Money.   

Thus, E-PAY present has several advantages for importers and economic operators, including revenue maximisation, efficiency in financial control, efficiency of collection by the availability of several outlets, reduction of cash circulation which facilitates the migration of digital economy, reduction of risks of embezzlement, traceability of all payments made on the platform, reduction of fraud, reconciliation of data, electronci archiving of proof of payment (slips, receipts, etc).
