Virtual Meetings of the Bureau of the IMF/WB Africa Group II Board of Governors and the IMFC Plenary in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 October 2020 in Washington (USA), the virtual meeting of the Bureau of the Africa Group II of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB), as well as the Plenary of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), were held by videoconference. The Republic of Congo participated through the Minister of Finance and Budget, Calixte Nganongo, Governor of the IMF for his country, represented by his colleague in charge of the Budget, Ludovic Ngatsé.

Audience granted to UNDP

The Congolese Minister of Finance and Budget, Calixte Nganongo, accompanied by his colleague Delegate for the Budget, Ludovic Ngatsé, and the Representative-Resident of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Congo Maleye Diop, exchanged, Tuesday, October 8, 2020 in Brazzaville, on the return of the Republic of Congo to the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), for which the UNDP provides the Secretariat.

Congo/France Cooperation

On Wednesday 8 July 2020, in the conference room of the Ministry of Finance and Budget in Brazzaville, the Ambassador of France to Congo, François Barateau; the Director of the French Development Agency (AFD), Lionel Cafferini, and the Congolese Government represented by the Minister of Finance and Budget, Calixte Nganongo, signed two grant agreements for a total amount of 7.35 million euros (i.e. 4.8 billion CFA francs).

Closing of the first day of the CEMAC financial market in Brazzaville-Kintélé

Opened by Madame Congolese Minister of Planning, Statistics and Regional Integration, Ingrid Olga Ghislaine Ebouka-Babackas, on behalf of her colleague Calixte Nganongo in charge of Finance and Budget of which is acting, and closed by Ambassadeur Nagoum Yamassoum, President of the Supervisory Commission of Central African Financial Market (COSUMAF), the first day of the financial market of Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), held in Brazzaville-Kintélé on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, under the main theme “Stakes and challenges of the unified regional financial market in Central Africa” enabled the participants to adopt 13 recommendations to revitalise the Central African Transferable Securities Stock Exchanges (BVMAC).

First Day of the CEMAC Financial Market in Brazzaville

Received in audience, on Monday 2 March 2020 in Brazzaville (Congo), by Madame Ingrid Olga Ghislaine Ebouka-Babackas, Minister of Planning,  Statistics and Regional Integration acting as Minister of Finance and Budget, Ambassador Nagoum Yamassoum, President of the Central African Financial Supervisory Commission (COSUMAF), set the objectives of the first day of the financial market that his institution and the host country co-organised, Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in Kintélé (northern suburb of the Congolese capital).

An International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission stays in Brazzaville

The Congolese Minister in charge of Finance and Budget, Calixte Nganongo, represented his colleague Ingrid Olga Ghislaine Ebouka-Babackas, Minister of Planning,  Statistics and Regional Integration, received a delegation from the IMF, led by Alex Segura-Ubiergo, Thursday 20 February 2020, in the meeting room of the said Ministry. For one week, discussions will focus on documents prepared by Congo, at the request of the Fund.

Training Workshop on Banking Finance in Africa

From Friday 29 November to Friday 27 December 2019 at the BSCA headquarters in Brazzaville, the Ministry of Trade and the Central University for Finance and Economy of the China's People Republic organised, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and Budget of the Republic of Congo, a training workshop on banking finance in Africa. This seminar was intended to financial and bank Congolese officials.
