The African Lotteries Association (ALA) held a meeting of General Managers of member companies on Tuesday, October10, 2017 in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. The opening ceremony was under the aegis of Emmanuel Akouala-Mpan, Principal Private Secretary, representing the Minister of finance and budget of the host country, honourable Calixte Nganongo.
The meeting held in Brazzaville enabled participants to share views following the meeting held on August 10, 2017 in Dakar(Senegal) on the development of contractual relationships between Paris Mutuels Urbains (PMU) France, Lotteries and PMU-Africa.
Participants from Morocco, Benin, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Togo, Burkina-Faso, Côte d' Ivoire, the Republic of the Congo, Mali, Guinea-Conakry, Guinea-Bissau and Niger followed three keynote addresses made at the opening session. The first speech was made by the Principal Private Secretary, who called on the participants to freely share their views in a responsible way in order to examine the problems they have in their sector of activity. " African solidarity is needed to put together your talents and skills needed for making your respective companies back on track as they are facing economic downturns," he stressed.
The chairman of the Association, Amadou Samba Kane, reminded that the ALA was a forum for debate, solidarity and exchange of experience between its members and for a better development of their activities. Martial Djimbi Makoundi, General Manager of the Congolaise de gestion de loterie Lottery Management (Cogelo)-lottery company of the Republic of Congo, said that its company was ready to contribute on all issues of common interest and whose examination requires everybody's involvement.
