Computerized customs clearance - The localities of Pokola and Ngombe have each a one window for customs clearance of goods

29 Mar, 2018

On March 29, 2018 the Principal Private Secretary, Emmanuel Akouala-Mpan, representing the Minister of Finance and Budget, honourable Calixte Nganongo, officially opened  two new one windows for customs clearance of goods.

They are located in the premises  of the  Banque Postale du Congo  branches in Pokola and Ngombe in the department  of Sangha (Republic  of the Congo). The ribbon was cut by the  prefect of the department of Sangha, JeanChristophe Tchikaya, in the presence of the Principal Private Secretary of the Minister  of Post Office, Telecommunication and Digital Economy, Franck Siolo,  the executive director of customs and indirect tax, Jean Alfred Onanga and Calixte Medard Tabangoli,  general manager of Banque Postale du Congo.

The opening of the two windows goes along the process of computerizing revenue collection departments initiated by the government, so as to simplify, to modernize and to secure the collection of state revenues.

After the opening of one windows in Brazzaville, in Pointe Noire and in Dolisie,  one windows  are operational in Pokola and Ngombe in the department of Sangha, which  has three one windows now, including the one which was opened on August 1, 2017.

These new tools will enable timber companies (like La Congolaise Industrielle de Bois-CIB at Pokola and IFO at Ngombe) and other economic operators of the localities to provide in one place and once, the information and the documents intended for public administrations  involved in the formalities related to import-export or transit trade.

The two branches of Banque Postale du Congo, considered as partners of Customs clearance one windows, provide traditional bank services to customers.

Let us mention that the cutting of the ribbon was performed along with a traditional blessing ritual of the spot by the dignitary Ange Elapa at Pokola, who is a native  of  the village of Mbokwe, and by his colleague  Samory Momba at Ngombe.
