Cooperation between Congo and Cuba - The Minister of Finance and Budget, honourable Calixte Nganongo welcomes the deputy Minister of Public health of Cuba, Honourable Marcia Coba Ruiz.
On Monday, May 7, 2018, in Brazzaville, the Congolese Minister of Finance, honourable Calixte Nganongo, along with his fellow, Minister of Health and Population, had talks in his office with Mrs. Marcia Cobas Ruiz, Cuban deputy Minister of Public Health of Cuba, who was with her Ambassador in Congo, H.E. Mr. Manuel Serrano Acosta.
They talked about the cooperation between both countries in various fields and the ways of strengthening it. In the field of health for example, the two parties talked about the Congolese medicine students in Cuba, who are still carrying on their studies. «Their training will end within two years and you will then welcome the first group of those students» said Mrs. Marcia Cobas Ruiz at the end of the talks.
Medical teams will go across the country in a near future, especially in the departments where they are not involved yet : Cuvette, Likouala, Plateaux, Cuvette- Ouest and Bouenza. In other departments like Cuvette , Owando (Hopital 31 Juillet) and Oyo (Hopital general Edith Lucie Bongo Ondimba), Brazzaville, Pointe Noire and in the department of Niari (general hospital of Dolisie), there are Cuban doctors.
The Cuban Deputy Minister led an important delegation composed of the general manager of the international bank of Cuba, the director of Africa and Middle-East department in the Ministry of foreign trade, investment and cooperation and of the deputy chairman of the medical department of Cuba.
