Cooperation between Congo and the World Bank - Signing of two funding agreements of PFDE and PRISP projects for a good financial management

On June 23, 2017 two funding agreements were signed in the conference room of the Ministry of Finance in Brazzaville between honourable Calixte Nganongo, Minister of Finance, Budget and Public Portfolio and Mr. Djibrilla Issa, representative of the World Bank in the presence of honourable Ingrid Olga Ebouka-Babackas, Minister of Planning, Statistics and Integration, for the purpose of improving financial management in Congo.
The first agreement is about an additional funding of the forests and diversification of the economy Project (FDEP), which aims at improving the capacity building of the forest administration and at getting the indigenous people involved in the sustainable management of forests. The funding amounts to 6.51 million dollars (i.e…billion CFA francs). The implementation of the project will take four years.
The second agreement is about the public sector integrated reforms Project, which aims at having a good collection of internal revenues and at mastering public expenditure. It amounts to 40 million dollars (i.e ...billion CFA francs) for a period of 5 years (2017-2022).
