On Tuesday 22 September 2020 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Congolese Abroad in Brazzaville, Alexis Frédéric Kanga, Director of Regulation and Litigation at the Directorate General of Taxes and Domains, launched the registration site for obtaining the new Unique Identification Number (NIU).

From now on, diplomats accredited in Congo (ambassadors and staff of diplomatic missions) will be able to obtain the new NIU. A form to be filled in will be presented to them beforehand. This document will be issued free of charge until the end of December 2020. It will be subject to a fee after this period, Alexis Fréderic Kanga said.

The Director of Regulation and Litigation took this opportunity to recall the interest of the NIU: that of enabling commercial and financial transactions to be carried out as well as the tracking of formalities at borders, Customs and Taxes.

He also indicated that this registration site is open at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Congolese Abroad, every Tuesday and Thursday.

The launching ceremony was attended by Mrs. Ida Annie Anga, Head of the enrolment site, and Police Colonel Henri Jacques Kiénaka, Director of Civil Identification, NIU Project Manager.
