Last ordinary session of the Executive Committee of the EITI-Congo National Committee

PARTICIPANTS VALIDATE AND ADOPTE THE 2021 REPORT

The last ordinary session-2023 of the Executive Committee of the EITI-Congo National Committee was held, Friday December 29 and Saturday December 30, in Brazzaville, under the chairmanship of the Congolese Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Jean -Baptiste ONDAYE. At the end of the work, the participants validated and adopted the 2021 Report, which was on the agenda.

 

Several other points were debated at this session, including: the validation and adoption of the draft 2022 EITI Report; the Recovery Action Plan of the National EITI Committee; the establishment of Executive Committee Committees; the establishment of the Technical Committee; and priority actions.

Regarding the 2022 Report, the participants agreed to validate it in February 2024.

Among the priority actions to be carried out in 2024, is the finalization of the establishment of the Commissions of the Executive Committee of the EITI-Congo National Committee, apart from the one that already exists, namely: the Validation Commission of the governance, chaired by the Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mr. Bruno Jean Richard Itoua. Two other Commissions will be set up. These are the Finance Commission and the Communication Commission.

These three Commissions will provide proof of the proper functioning of EITI-Congo, in accordance with the requirements of the international EITI.
