The Minister Calixte Nganongo granted an audience to the Ambassador Ma Fulin

"China suggests that the talks on the debt of Congo start on Monday 5 November 2018 "

On Monday 29 October 2018 in Brazzaville, after the audience granted to him by Calixte Nganongo, Minister of Finance and Budget, The Chinese ambassador to Congo, Ma Fulin said that "China has suggested that the negotiations on the debt of Congo to his country start on November 05, 2018".

He added that the Congolese Ministry of Finance and Budget and himself, agreed during this audience, to discuss together in order to solve this problem. 

It should be noted that, the debt of Congo to China, the main trade partner of this country, amounts to 1, 776 billion FCFA (2, 1 billion US dollars). The talks of next November 05, aim to make that debt sustainable. 

Ma Fulin took the opportunity to discuss with Calixte Nganongo on the materialization of the conclusion of the 3rd China-Africa cooperation Forum, which was held from 3 to 4 September 2018 in Beijing, particularly on investments in development projects. The Republic of Congo was represented by the President of the Republic, Denis Sassou-N'Guesso, and his Ministry of Finance and Budget, Calixte Nganongo. 

The Chinese ambassador, who was at his very first audience with Calixte Nganongo since he arrived in Congo, 6 months ago, reiterated his country's commitment to settle with Congo not only the issue of the debt to his country, but also the previous issues, as well as those that will be defined as part of the future bilateral cooperation.
