Ministry of Finance and Budget - Opening of Ministerial Budget Conferences

In preparation for the State budget of 2019 fiscal year, the Ministry of Finance and Budget initiated ministerial budget conferences. The workshops that were launched on Monday 10 September 2018 in the conference hall of the Ministry, were chaired by the Director of cabinet Henri Loundou, assisted by Ferdinand Likouka, Chief of staff of the Ministry of planning, statistics and regional integration, Franck Corneille Mampouya-Mbama, Director of planning and development, and Nicolas Okandzé, Director General of the Budget (DGB).     

These conferences are designed to develop a budget consistent with the requirements of the International Monetary Funds (IMF), which is negociating with Congo, in order to close up a tree-year programme of financing for the revival of its economy. Thus, ensuring the quality of expenditure, is a requirement of this State budget of 2019 fiscal year”,said Henri Loundou.

 These ministerial budget conferences will end on Tuesday 18 September”. In October, the traditional parliamentary budget session will begin, during which the Senate and the National Assembly will pass the financial law at the latest 31 of December of the current year.

 

It should be noted that, on the first day of workshops, five Ministries presented their drafts budgets for the 2019 fiscal year, either by their Chiefs of staff or by their Directors of studies and planning (DEP). These are the Ministries of Hydrocarbons ; special economic Zones (ZES) ; Land Affairs and State property, responsible for Relations with the Parliament, construction, urban planning and housing ; Tourism and the environment.
