The Budget Minister Delegate, Ludovic Ngatsé, received on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in Brazzaville, a cheque for 50 million CFA francs from the Managing Director of the mobile phone company Airtel Congo, Alain Kahasha Ntumwa.

This financial contribution is the company's response to the appeal by the Head of State, Denis Sassou-N'Guesso, to all individuals and legal entities to replenish the National Solidarity Fund and the COVID-19 Fund.

"We are pleased, Mr. Minister, to make this modest contribution. Our initial idea was to give you thousands of masks for the people. But, taking into account the many difficulties facing the government, the Airtel-Congo company considered it useful to transform this donation in kind into a cash donation," the DG, Alain Kahasha Ntumwa explained. He added that this donation will be followed shortly by another cheque, this time representing the contributions of Airtel Congo employees.

"Despite the difficult economic situation for everyone, you were able to raise this amount. Rest assured, Mr. Director-General, that we will inform the highest authorities. The Government will continue to support you in your activities in Congo," Minister Ludovic Ngatsé said, expressing his gratitude.
