19 Oct, 2021

On Tuesday 19 October 2021, in the conference room of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Public Portfolio, Ludovic Ngatsé, Minister Delegate for the Budget, received a delegation of investors from the AACID-REFAI-NGO Foundation (International agency for the refugee environment &family affairs), led by REFAI-NGO board member, Thierry Sengier.

Speaking to the press at the end of the audience granted to the delegation by the Minister Delegate for the Budget, Ludovic Ngatsé, Thierry Sengier explained the purpose of his visit in these words:

"The purpose of this visit was to identify avenues of collaboration and, possibly, solutions to the problem of financing and public debt in the Republic of Congo.

We talked specifically about agriculture, because the agri-food sector is a vital sector. The Congolese Head of State is keen to promote it, since food is the basis of everything. The population does not have the capacity to learn, to train, to develop activities and to become socially independent. I think that this is a privileged sector to hope for optimal social development.

Our wish is for the Congo to be self-sufficient in food. So far, the Congo imports a lot of foodstuffs, even though it has a lot of agricultural potential, its land is of good quality and the climatic conditions allow it to produce what the country can consume".

It should be noted that this 8-member delegation will be in Congo-Brazzaville from Saturday 16 to Saturday 23 October 2021, at the invitation of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, and Anatole Collinet-Makosso. The AACID-REFAI-NGO Foundation is based in Switzerland and includes Belgian, Romanian and Middle Eastern investors.
