
Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in Brazzaville, the Minister of Finance, Budget and Public Portfolio (MFBPP), Christian Yoka had a working session with the Director General of National Financial Institutions, Jean Pierre Nonault, surrounded by his teams.
This meeting was marked by the presentation of the missions of the General Directorate of National Financial Institutions; the challenges of the financial ecosystem and the prospects of this structure under supervision.
As part of the missions of the DGIFN, it was recalled that it is the technical body that assists the Minister in the field of national financial institutions such as banks or credit institutions and similar; Microfinance institutions; Payment institutions, intermediary companies and insurance experts. Its missions include ensuring the application of regulations relating to these institutions.
As for the challenges of the financial ecosystem, the DGIFN and its teams discussed Mobile money and financial inclusion; the regulatory framework for transactions with the electronic currency Bitcoin; and the operationalization of the Automobile Guarantee Fund (FGA).
As for the outlook, it will involve efficiently guiding the decision of the Congolese government in the financial and economic fields; promoting the development of the financial sector and financial inclusion; participating in maintaining the stability of macroeconomic balances; boosting the regional financial market of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) by creating the National Agency of the Stock Exchange of Central Africa (BVMAC)-Congo, in promoting the offer and opportunities of this unified exchange; creating a national file of financial institutions; and establishing fees related to the administrative processing of approval application files.
It should be noted that Minister Yoka closed this working session at the DGIFN with a guided tour of the financial transactions room of the Integrated System of National Financial Institutions.
