Workshop to launch A Pilot Programme for the setting up of A Regional Network of Champions of the Modernization of Customs Human Capital Management

Participants have adopted the Brazzaville Declaration and several recommendations

From Monday 16 to Friday 20 May 2022, Brazzaville (capital of the Republic of Congo), hosted the workshop to launch the Pilot Programme for setting up a Regional Network of Champions of the Modernization of Customs Human Capital Management (RRCM-GCHD). These meetings were organized by the Regional Training Center (RTC) of Brazzaville, West and Central Africa Region (WCA), in partnership with the World Customs Organization (WCO).

The work was opened by Gomez Tseket, Director of the Regional Training Center (RTC) of Brazzaville, Chief of Staff of Guénolé MbongoKoumou, Vice President of the WCO-WCA Region and Director General of Customs and Excise (DGDDI) of Congo-Brazzaville.

 The participants followed presentations on different themes, such as '’the Foundations of Strategic HR Management and HR Strategy’’; '’Managing Resistance in the context of an HR Modernization Project ’’; ''Acting as a leader’’. This workshop was facilitated by two experts from the WCO, namely: Mr. Mohamed El Hail and Ms. Chupee Howe.

At the end of the workshop, the participants read the word of thanks by Mrs. Edna Gomes Veiga; the Brazzaville Declaration was delivered by Mrs. Diana Moundounga Bastante. The conclusions were delivered by the expert Mohamed Si.

The opening and closing of the meeting were under the auspices of Mr. Gomez Tseket.

Of the 24 member countries of the WCO-MDG region, 21 took part in the work, with a total of 25 participants.  

The next workshop will be held at the Regional Training Centre (RTC) in Abuja, Nigeria.
