CONGO-IMF Technical Meetings

The first preparatory visit to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) semi-annual Review in Congo has just been held in Brazzaville from September 10 to 16, 2019. “After 3 years of recession, the first signs of improvement in the Congolese economy are evident”, Alex Segura-Ubiergo, head of the IMF delegation, says.

Opening of the 7th Edition of the National Tax Legislature Conference

The Director General of Taxation and State Property (DGID), Ludovic Itoua, has shown the “will of his Administration to build the foundations of a participatory, close and equitable tax system. In such a system, he said, everyone must pay the tax according to their ability to contribute”. This statement was made on the occasion of the relaunch of the National Tax Legislature Conference (NTLC), the 7thedition of which was opened, after several years of eclipse, Wednesday 21 August 2019 in Brazzaville, by Hilaire Mavoungou, Budget Advisor and Interim Director of Cabinet of Minister of Finance and Budget, Calixte Nganongo.

6th Ordinary Sessions of the National Assembly and the Senate

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Clément Mouamba, took note of the recommendations made by the members of the Parliament following the Budget Orientation Debate (BOD) 2020-2022. Action Group Against Money Laundering in Central Africa (GABAC)

Calixte Nganongo, Congolese Minister of Finance and Budget, a statutory member of GABAC, opened Monday 5 August 2019 in the Congolese capital city, a seminar for pre-assessing the mechanism for the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism in Congo. On this occasion, he received the Technical Compliance Questionnaire from Etienne Tabi, Permanent Secretary of GABAC.

Henri Loundou, director of cabinet, representing Calixte Nganongo, Minister of Finance and Budget, opened, Wednesday 31 July 2019 in Brazzaville, a seminar on the popularisation of Regulation N0.1 CEMAC (Central Africa Economic and Monetary Community) of 11 April 2016, on the prevention and suppression of money laundering, terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons in the sub-region.
