On Monday, August 12, 2024, in Brazzaville, the Congolese government, represented by the Minister of State, Minister of Mining Industries and Geology, Mr. Pierre OBA, and his colleagues in charge of the economy and finance, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, and of transport, civil aviation and the merchant navy, Mr. Honoré SAYI, and the Turkish company Ulsan Mining Congo, represented by its general administrator, Mr. Fatish GULSAN, signed a mining agreement in the district of Mayoko, in the department of Niari.

Official launch of the activities of the African Solidarity Fund (FSA) in Congo

On Thursday, July 25, 2024 in Brazzaville, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, chaired the official launch ceremony of the activities of the African Solidarity Fund (FSA) in the Republic of Congo, by its Director General, Mr. Abdourahmane DIALLO. This took place in the presence of several members of the Government, heads of financial institutions (Banks, Insurance companies and socio-professional and employer organizations). On this occasion, Minister Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE made a plea in favor of financing the Congolese economy. And, during the meeting, 7 framework agreements for economic cooperation were signed.

2nd ordinary meeting of the CNEF-CONGO 2024

“The macroeconomic situation, at the national level, consolidated in the first quarter of 2024. It was driven by the revival of investments in the oil sector. This development resulted in a surplus in the overall budget balance based on commitments, excluding grants, and an increase in the money supply. As a result, economic activity is expected to consolidate in 2024, with a real gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of +3.7%, compared to +1.5% in 2023.” This is one of the conclusions of the 2nd ordinary meeting of the National Economic and Financial Committee (CNEF) of the Republic of Congo, for the year 2024, chaired at the headquarters of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), in Brazzaville, by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE.

Meeting between FSA and local banks

On the occasion of the opening of a presentation and discussion meeting between the African Solidarity Fund (FSA) Delegation, led by its CEO, Mr. Abdourahmane DIALLO, and the CEOs of banks grouped within the Professional Association of Credit Institutions of Congo (APEC-Congo), represented by Mr. Vincent NGIMBOCK, the Chief of Staff of the Congolese Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Athanase NGASSAKI, issued a double exhortation to the CEOs of banks established in Congo.

1st session-2024 of the National Investment Commission (CNI)

On Wednesday, July 10, 2024 in Brazzaville, 11 approval applications, or half of the 22 examined by the participants in the 1st session of the National Investment Commission (CNI) of the Republic of Congo, for the year 2024, received a ‘’favorable opinion without reservation’’. While 9 received a ‘’favorable opinion with reservations’’, and 2 others were ‘’adjourned’’. These are the conclusions of the work of this session held under the auspices of Mr. Athanase NGASSAKI, Director of Cabinet, representing the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, President of the CNI.

3rd edition of the CEMAC Banker's Days

From Friday, June 28 to Saturday, June 29, 2024 in Brazzaville (Congo), the participants in the 3rd edition of the Banker's Days of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), debated around four themes, namely: "the banking system of the sub-region: excess liquidity of banks and treatment of banks in difficulty"; "cybercrime: elements of combating the vulnerability of banks"; "the opportunities of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA): state of play and implication of the CEMAC banking system"; and "the Credit Information Bureau (BIC): interest and implementation".

26th meeting of the AFRITAC Center Steering Committee in Kinshasa-2024, on “Public Finance Management and Climate Change”

From Tuesday June 18 to Wednesday June 19, 2024, Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), hosted the work of the 26th meeting of the AFRITAC Center Steering Committee. Organized in a hybrid format, this meeting gave delegates from the 9 member countries the opportunity to examine the issues of “Public Finance Management and Climate Change”. At the end of these meetings, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE, Minister of Economy and Finance of Congo-Brazzaville, was appointed current President of the said Committee for the two fiscal years which have just opened (2024-2026 ).

Conclusions of the 37th Annual Conference and 40th General Assembly of CREDAF

After three days of work, from Tuesday June 11 to Thursday June 13, 2024 in Brazzaville, capital of the Republic of Congo, participants in the 37th Annual Conference and 40th General Assembly of the Circle of Reflection and Exchange of Directors of Tax Administrations (CREDAF) separated, under the auspices of Mr. Athanase NGASSAKI, Chief of Staff of the Congolese Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Jean-Baptiste ONDAYE. They adopted three major conclusions, including the appointment of the new current President of this organization, for a period of one year. This is Mr. Ludovic ITOUA, Director General of Taxes and Domains (DGID) of Congo, the organizing country.
