World Customs Organization (WCO)

At the conclusion of their work held from Tuesday 19 to Thursday 21 November 2019 in Brazzaville (Republic of Congo), the participants in the 23rd Meeting of the Committee of Experts of the Customs Directors General Conference, from 12 of the 23 countries in the WCO-West and Central Africa, adopted 21 recommendations and 6 due diligences. These include the development by the Customs of each country of a National Strategy for the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA).

23rd Experts Committee Meeting of the WCO-WCA Regional Conference of Customs Directors General

Henri Loundou, Director of cabinet, representing the Minister of Finance and Budget, Calixte Nganongo, opened, Tuesday 19 November 2019 in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, the 23rd Experts Committee Meeting of Customs Directors General Conference of the World Customs Organization (WCO)- West and Central Africa (WCA). The implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area is on the agenda.

Inauguration of three (3) Single Clearing Windows and three (3) Postal Bank Branches in Cabosse, Souanké and Ewo

Henri Loundou, director of cabinet, representing Calixte Nganongo, Minister of Finance and Budget, has officially launched the activities of three (3) single clearing windows (GUD) and supervised the inauguration of three (3) Postal Bank branches in Congo (BPC).  The ceremonies took place on Monday 29 in Cabosse and Souanké, in the Sangha division, and on Tuesday 30 July 2019 in Ewo, in the Cuvette-Ouest division.

Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the Control and Tracking of International Traffic in Goods

The Director General of Customs and Indirect Taxes (DGDDI), Guénolé Mbongo Koumou, and the Acting Director General of the Congolese Shippers' Council (CCC), Séraphin Mouendzi, signed Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in Brazzaville, a Memorandum of Understanding on the Control and Tracking of international traffic in goods, just after the document has been reviewed and adopted by the experts from both Directorates.

44 candidates take part in the First Selection Test for the Inspector Training

Forty-four Congolese customs officers took part in the first selection test for the inspector training. The tests were launched, on Friday, May, 3 2019, at the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Regional Training Centre in Brazzaville, Congo, by Guénolé Mbongo Koumou, Director General of Customs and Indirect Taxes.

Tour of the Director General of Customs in Pointe-Noire and Kouilou

Guénolé Mbongo Koumou, Directorate General of Customs does not want to miss the boat. In the footsteps of his tutelage Ministry, the Director General of Customs and Indirect Taxation is determined to meet the objectives set by the Government to the Administration for which it is responsible to conduct the destiny. The Congolese Minister of Customs carried out, from Wednesday 27 to Saturday 30 March 2019 a working mission in Pointe-Noire and Kouilou divisions. Considering the fruitful discussion with the divisional authorities, economic operators and executives under supervision, it appeared that the harvest has been very good, both the prospects and commitments made by some, and the others, are decisive and very encouraging.

Directorate of Information Systems (DSI) - Customs officers and economic operators made aware of the use of e-customs and DPI

The Director of the Forecast and Statistics, Lucie Sakala, representing the Director General of Customs and Indirects taxes, Guénolé Mbongo Koumou, in partnership with the company Webb Fontaine-Congo, represented by its Managing Director, Marco Franchi, launched, Friday 8 February 2019 at Pointe-Noire, the functioning of the e-customs portal and the Prior Import Declaration (DPI), to facilitate the procedures of customs clearance.
