The New President of the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC) was installed in his new position on Saturday 18 June 2022 in Brazzaville (Republic of Congo). This was at the end of the Extraordinary General Assembly chaired by Mrs. Nicole Jeanine Lydie Roboty Epse Mbou, Minister of Economy and Recovery of Gabon, current president of the body.

Inauguration of tax offices in Brazzaville

On Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in Brazzaville, two tax offices, namely the one of Makélékélé R+2 (1st district) and the one of Mfilou R+1 (7th district) were inaugurated during a unique ceremony held on the Avenue de l'OUA. Under the auspices of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Anatole Collinet Makosso. In the presence of the Minister of State, Minister of Trade, Supply and Consumption, Alphonse Nsilou. They were joined by their colleagues in charge of Finance, Budget and Public Portfolio, Rigobert Roger Andely; Industrial Development and the Promotion of the Private Sector, Nicéphore Antoine Thomas Fylla Saint Eudes. And the Budget Delegate, Ludovic Ngatsé.

Conference of Directors General of Customs for the West and Central Africa Region

Three speeches were delivered at the opening, Monday, May 23, 2022, in Brazzaville (Republic of Congo), of the 26th Meeting of Experts of the Conference of Directors General of Customs of the World Customs Organization (WCO) for the West and Central Africa region (WCA). This meeting was held under the theme ‘’Accelerating the Digital Transformation of Customs by developing a Data Culture and a Performing Ecosystem’’.

From Monday 16 to Friday 20 May 2022, Brazzaville (capital of the Republic of Congo), hosted the workshop to launch the Pilot Programme for setting up a Regional Network of Champions of the Modernization of Customs Human Capital Management (RRCM-GCHD). These meetings were organized by the Regional Training Center (RTC) of Brazzaville, West and Central Africa Region (WCA), in partnership with the World Customs Organization (WCO).

Three Financing Agreements signed between the European Union and Congo

Rigobert Roger Andely, Congolese Minister of Finance, Budget and Public Portfolio, and Giacomo Durazzo, Ambassador of the European Union in Congo, signed on Thursday, May 19, 2022 in Brazzaville, three Financing Agreements, totalling 25 million Euro, for the implementation of three projects in the fields of digital, professionalization of the Congolese Police and the transversality of the partnership between the two parties.

Press conference of the EITI International Secretariat delegation in Brazzaville

On Tuesday 17 July 2022, a press conference was co-hosted by Nassim Bennani Kabchi, Regional Director for Francophone Africa, and Hugo Paret, Technical Advisor in charge of Validation at the International Secretariat of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), at the Assurances et réassurances du Congo (ARC) building in Brazzaville. The purpose of the conference, which took place at the end of their mission, was to discuss the preparations for the 3rd Validation of the Congo in the EITI Standard, which is scheduled to take place at the EITI Board meeting in Oslo, Norway, in July 2022.

Rigobert Roger Andely, Congolese Minister of Finance, Budget and Public Portfolio, and Chairman of the National Committee of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI-Congo), opened the session of the Executive Committee of the National Committee in his office in Brazzaville on Friday 13 May 2022. The meeting was attended by his colleague in charge of Hydrocarbons, Bruno Jean Richard Itoua, Vice-Chair of the EITI National Committee, and the Permanent Secretary of the EITI National Committee, Florent Michel Okoko.
