First session of the National Investment Commission (CNI) for the year 2023

On Saturday April 1, 2023 in Brazzaville, Athanase Ngassaki, Chief of Staff, representing Jean-Baptiste Ondaye, Minister of Economy and Finance, and President of the National Investment Commission (CNI), opened the work of the first session of said Commission for the year 2023. In the presence of Ferdinand Sosthène Likouka, Chief of Staff of Mrs. Ingrid Olga Ghislaine Ebouka-Babackas, Minister of Planning, Statistics and Regional Integration; and Franck Mondesir Mbouayila Tsassa, Director General of Economy and Permanent Secretary of the CNI. 24 requests, representing 2.572 billion 52 million 836.394 F CFA of investment intentions to be realized and 3578 jobs to be created, were examined.

National Economic and Financial Committee (CNEF) of Congo

Jean-Baptiste Ondaye, Congolese Minister of Economy and Finance, chaired the meeting of the National Economic and Financial Committee (CNEF) of the Republic of Congo, session of Friday, March 24, 2023, at the headquarters of the Bank of the States of the Central Africa (BEAC). The work took place both face-to-face in Brazzaville (Congo) and by videoconference in Yaoundé (Cameroon) and Libreville (Gabon). According to the final press release, "in 2023, Congo's growth would amount to 3.7%".

National Balance of Payments Committee of Congo (CNDBP)

On Tuesday 20 December 2022, the National Balance of Payments Committee (CNDBP) of Congo met at the Bank of Central African States (BEAC) in Brazzaville. The meeting was chaired by Franck Mondésir Mbouayila Tsassa, Director General of the Economy, in the presence of Appolinaire Akilabi, representing Roger Gossaki, Director General of the Currency and External Financial Relations (DGMRFE). The Committee noted that Congo's economic and financial transactions with the rest of the world resulted in a current account surplus of CFAF 829 billion 200 million in 2020 (or 13.0% of the Gross Domestic Product - GDP), but down by 13.3% compared to 2019, when it stood at CFAF 956 billion 400 million (or 11.6% of GDP).

Meeting of the National Economic and Financial Committee (CNEF) of Congo

Under the chairmanship of Jean-Baptiste Ondaye, Minister of Economy and Finance, assisted by Ludovic Ngatsé, Minister of Budget, Public Accounts and Public Portfolio, the National Economic and Financial Committee met for the third quarter, Tuesday 29 December 2022 at the headquarters of the National Directorate of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), in person in Brazzaville (Congo), and by videoconference in Yaoundé (Cameroon) with Abbas Mahamat-Tolli, Governor of the BEAC. At the national level, the Committee noted a recovery in economic activity in 2022, based on the projections of the national authorities, i.e. a real GDP growth rate of 2.8% compared with a recession of 1.4% in 2021.

Payment of the Congolese State's Domestic Commercial Debt

On Tuesday 20 September 2022, at the Brazzaville Chamber of Commerce, Wilfrid Albert Ossié, Director of Cabinet of Rigobert Roger Andely, Minister of Finance, Budget and Public Portfolio, discussed with Employers' Unions and economic operators the mechanism put in place by the State for the payment of their debts, the amounts of which are between CFA F 10 and 50 million. The discussions took place in the presence of Paul Obambi, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture, Industry and Trade of Brazzaville.

Quarterly Meeting of the National Economic and Financial Committee (CNEF)-Congo

On Wednesday August 17, 2022, a quarterly meeting of the National Economic and Financial Committee (CNE) of the Republic of Congo was held at the national headquarters of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), in Brazzaville. Under the chairmanship of the Congolese Minister of Finance, Budget and Public Portfolio, Rigobert Roger Andely, who had at his side his colleague Ingrid Olga Ghislaine Ebouka-Babackas, Minister of Economy, Planning, Statistics and Regional integration. This meeting was honored by the presence of the Governor of this sub-regional financial institution, Abbas MahamatTolli.

Congolese Sinking Fund (CCA)

On Wednesday 3 August 2022 in Brazzaville, Théodore Ikémo,  General Manager of the Congolese Sinking Fund (CCA), made a presentation on the payment of the domestic commercial debt by the State, as provided for in the social project of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Denis Sassou-Nguesso, and in the Government's Action Programme, one of the twelve projects of which is the consolidation of public finances.
