National Monetary and Financial Committee and National Credit Council - The IMF expects a -2% growth for the Congolese economy in 2017

The National Monetary and Financial Committee of the Congo (NMFC) and the National Credit Council (NCC) successively met on December 6, 2017 in Brazzaville (Congo),  the national administrative headquarters of the Central African States Bank (CASB) under the chairmanship of the Congolese minister of finance and budget, the monetary watchdog, honourable Calixte Nganongo; in the presence of the Governor of the Bank, Abbas Mahamat Tolli and the national director of this sub-regional financial body, Michel Dzombala.

The Congolese government begins talks with the IMF

Talks for the signing of an agreement between the Congolese government and the Internatio-nal Monetary Fund (IMF) began on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Brazzaville. The Congo-lese side is led by both the Minister of finance and budget, Calixte Nganongo and the Chairman of the Negotiations  Technical Committee, Lucien Ebata, Special Advisor to the Head of State for external financing. The IMF delegation is led by Abdul Wane Aziz.

Central African Economic and Monetary Community(CAEMC) - DRC becomes a member of GABAC

The ceremony for the signing of the membership agreement between the CAEMC and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) took place on September 5th, 2017 in Brazzaville, the capital city of the Republic of the Congo. The agreement is about the Democratic republic of the Congo membership to  the Action Group against Money Laundering in Central Africa (GABAC).

Cooperation between Congo and the World Bank - 60 billion CFA francs required for the financing of the Project to support commercial agriculture in Congo (PSCAC)

The financing  of  PSCAC  amounting to 100 million US dollars (i.e. 60 billion CFA francs) will cover a period of  5 years (2017-2022). The funding agreement  was signed on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Brazzaville by the Manager in charge of the World bank operations for Congo, Ahmadou Moustapha Ndiaye and  the minister of finance and budget, honourable Calixte Nganongo, representing the government.

Public portfolio- A third turbine for the Centrale Electrique du Congo (Power plant of Congo)

On Thursday August 17,2017, the Minister of finance, budget and public portfolio, honourable Calixte Nganongo met with Mr. Lorenzo FIORILLO, the general manager of ENI Congo, an oil company. The purpose of the meeting was to have an exchange of views on the implementation of the project for the building of a third turbine for the Centrale Electrique du Congo(CEC).

Public private partnership - Two logging companies agree to make 100,000,000 desks and build a modern senior high school in Congo

On Wednesday, August 16, 2017, the Congolese government, represented by honourable Calixte Nganongo, Mi-nister of finance, budget and public portfolio and honourable Collinet Makosso, his counterpart in charge of primary, secondary education and literacy signed two memoranda of understanding with two private logging companies on the supply of 100,000 desks for Congolese pupils and the building of an interdepartmental modern senior high school at Vindoulou in Pointe Noire.
